Barn Owl

Thanks to Bryan & Rob for helping out with the tree clearing above Whitfield Hatches, it was a great mornings work. Sadly we found a dead barn owl, it was ringed and the number has been submitted to the Natural History Museum, it will be interesting to hear where it was originally ringed.

*Note: The bird was ringed by S Lane as age nestling, sex unknown on 24-Jun-2012 at Stroud Farm, Dorset 21km from where I found it.

Decision Time!

I thought John said just a light trim!!

Urban Area

One club member and two visiting day ticket anglers headed to the club’s more urban areas to fish on Saturday, with great results…

Quickly displacing the myth that you cannot catch fish during the day in August they all lost count of the numbers of fish caught, Trout and Grayling to well over two pounds were caught on both dry’s and nymph’s throughout the day.

So please get out fishing and make the most of the rest of the season…

Please come along to the work party on the 9th August at Whitfield Hatches, 9.00am start……
