There was a call out from Stuart Brown to John Aplin to nip up the Lower Water to take a photo of this fine 3lb 3oz grayling – good angling Stuart & great photo John!
What a great night on Wednesday and huge thanks to Bryan Sennet (Chairman), Richard Miller (Honorary Secretary) and Jim Chalmers (Honorary Treasurer) for all their work over the year, keeping the Club moving forward and letting the rest of us to just go fishing!! You will be receiving the December Newsletter etc. shortly.
After the AGM we were given a talk by Jonathan Bailey Chief Executive of the Westcountry River Trust on the Trusts work and future plans. (It was they that last year funded all the new stiles across the fishery) His topics ranged from their current Catchment Management Project(s) and hot off the press their Catchment Fisheries Plans. It is good to hear that they are working closely with the EA, Wildlife Trusts and especially the Angling Trust, to deliver their plans. The hottest topic was the recruitment of young anglers into flyfishing, I have an idea this will continue for sometime!!!
Huge thanks for Jonathan for his talk on the Trusts work and we hope to work with you & the Trust in the very near future 🙂
**Waiting List** If you are in the top 30 and you haven’t heard from me this Autumn please email me on John@grhe.co.uk ASAP, because we have a few vacancies to fill..
