Flow Deflectors

We all gathered at 9am and the threat of rain didn’t put us off. John & Tony had already hammered in the stakes so we had a head start

The Start

Plenty of willow was cut and drifted down to the deflectors, then weaved into position. Some wire and a few clips and the first was finished, quickly followed by the other three.

The Team

Once completed the flow has increased and will soon narrow the river providing excellent habitat for the trout and invertebrates.

The Finished Product

After a ploughman’s lunch while sat watching the hatching mayfly, there was time to have a very quick bit of weed cutting – it was an excellent day and many thanks goes to John, Tony, Adam, Richard, Rod & Dave
