Tree Planting

John and his team have been busy over the past few days planting trees down on the Lower Water to encourage wildlife and provide excellent cover for the fly life. There is a good mix of trees oak, ash, hazel, spindle, hawthorn etc. They have been bought with money from our rod licences and it good to see that it is actually going back into the rivers and not lost in a sea of bureaucracy!

The snowdrops are out again and although there was a chill wind today, the trees are in bud, so not long until the grannom start to hatch…
