Please Shut the Gate
At last we could be seeing a spell of drier weather with some of the Frome back within the banks.
Today I headed up to our new Stratton Fishing, cut back all the dead nettles and rushes along the banks, some new DFC signs and a chain and hook on the lower access gate, also a “Please Shut the Gate” sign, the river looked rather lovely..
As members venture out at the start of the season, the river is still very full, the flow very strong and some access points to the water meadows will be somewhat hazardous, so please take care, also please avoid parking off road until things properly dry up.

The Club
The Club is a private one, founded in 1877, of approximately sixty-four members and six Town Rod subscribers. The Club’s waters consist of about 12 miles of wild brown trout & grayling fishing in the main River Frome, River Cerne and River Piddle, together with attendant carriers and side streams. The waters extend both above and below the town of Dorchester and the Club employs a part-time keeper.
