New Season 2026

Thank goodness we had some very productive work parties leading up to Christmas, also Oscar and I were able to get all the winter work done before he headed off traveling early in January, then it started raining…

Well at last spring is sort of upon us, the clocks jump forward and the season begins on Wednesday 😊

The forecast is rather good for the start, proper grannom weather, along with hopefully a rising fish or two, I did see one fish rise a dozen times on the Lower Water last week.

I have seen a good few midges, the odd olive and one solitary blackthorn, the river looks in good order, hopefully I can at least get the Lower Water mown before the start as the banks are now drying out a little.

The Stratton beat looks lovely, I cleared a fallen tree from the fishing hut, also the Cerne and Sun Inn stretch looked fishy.

Have a great season.
